With over fifteen years of treasury and accounting experience, Eve Brothers, MBA, CTP, CPA, is the kind of person you want to give you financial advice. She joined the Breathe California Golden Gate Board of Directors in July 2015 and currently serves as Board Treasurer, reviewing financial statements and giving advice on financial matters from cash flow to budgeting. As the Board Treasurer, a Certified Public Accountant, and Certified Treasury Professional, she hopes to “provide good stewardship in considering different financial options to help guide the organization as effectively as possible.”
A reformed smoker, Eve became connected to Breathe California’s mission when she decided to quit smoking in college and was training to be an army officer. When she couldn’t pass a physical running test, she went to the doctor and was diagnosed with exercise induced asthma. Needless to say, she quit smoking that year and has become an avid anti-tobacco advocate ever since.
In lieu of joining the army, Eve moved to Guam where she worked as a tax accountant for KPMG, and then for Shell Oil Company as a Financial and Planning Analyst. She attended the University of Guam in order to earn her MBA. Eve moved back to the states so that her daughters could attend stateside schools. She earned her CPA while working as a Senior Accountant for The Medical College of Wisconsin and CTP when employed as Assistant Treasurer for Cleaver-Brooks in Milwaukee.
Now, working as a Treasury consultant to Robert Half Management Resources, Eve volunteers with Breathe California and with other organizations such as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, hiking, biking, practicing gluten-free cooking and listening to audiobooks. She recently started a blog discussing post-surgical healing thru functional medicine and strength training.
