Being at the helm this past year has been a transformative experience for me, and it’s been an exceptional year for Breathe California. Here are a few of the highlights:
- We introduced new programs to the Bay Area, such as our O24u™ Environmental Health program, and we are working in new communities, such as the City of Richmond.
- We are continuing to prioritize services in our most vulnerable neighborhoods.
- We relocated our office to San Francisco after 20 years in Daly City. Having been founded here in 1908, San Francisco is our ancestral home. Our office is now easier to access and allows us to reduce our carbon footprint and become a more sustainable organization.
From the bottom of my lungs I would like to thank our volunteers, interns, donors, Board members and incredible staff for making this year memorable and impactful. On the pages that follow, I am thrilled to share more of the highlights and reflections on the last fiscal year. I hope you find it informative and useful.
With this Year in Review I am excited to announce the launch of Breathe California’s 2016–17 Campaign to Breathe Free, our most ambitious fundraising campaign yet. There is no doubt we are making progress toward eliminating lung disease but we still have a long way to go. Until then, there’s Breathe California. Until then, you can help create a safer and healthier Bay Area community.
I invite you to come by and visit our new office in downtown San Francisco, visit one of our programs, or give me a call to talk about the impact we are making and how you can make a difference.
