Dr. George Su is a pulmonologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital, UCSF where he serves as the medical director of the Healthy San Francisco Asthma and COPD Program. A Cal Bear, George graduated from UC Berkeley with his degree in biophysics and music and then earned his MD from UCLA.
Dr. Su’s interest and work in pulmonology led him to the work of Breathe California, and in 2009 he joined the Breathe California Board of Directors. He is one of the longest standing members on the board and has served as Chair of the Nominating, Strategic Planning and Walter Travel committees, as well as having served on the Executive, Grants and Contracts, and Revenue Generation Committees.
Dr. Su has been a dedicated and valuable member of the Breathe California Board of Directors, advising the organization on latest science in lung health. In 2012, he was awarded the 2011-2012 Volunteer of the Year Award for his service and commitment to the mission of Breathe California. Dr. Su and his family enjoy attending Breathe California events including Bike 4 Breath and the Clear The Air Film Fest.
