Sejal Saraf spent January 2017 at Breathe California’s offices as a public health research and evaluation intern. Sejal came to Breathe California as a result of her interest in tobacco control. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Public Health program at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and had worked at the Institute for Global Tobacco Control.
At Breathe California, Sejal worked on an examination of the Ash Kickers Quit Smoking Program, preparing documentation of how Ash Kickers complies with the existing U.S. Public Health Service guidelines for intensive tobacco treatment interventions.
Sejal is also a dentist, and while at Breathe California, she also contacted dentists’ offices in San Mateo County to increase their interest in smoking cessation as a benefit for their patients’ oral hygiene and general health. Sejal’s activities with her internship at Breathe California will continue through February 2017, helping Breathe California’s efforts from afar as she returns to Johns Hopkins.
